His Adventurous Soul

Being adventurous from a young age is an astonishing thing. You get to experience a lot of things. So, when you get older you don’t feel like you are missing something from your childhood.

Different choices can be made while growing up. You can decide to continue this as a hobby, or you can decide to draw your career path on this, worst case scenario you let go of your adventurous soul.

My brother, for instance, is eager to learn anything. Ever since he was a little kid he always tried to see as much as he could. He couldn’t handle being in a limited space. Like Christopher Columbus, he too burnt with the desire to set sail to the vast and discover new foreign land.

Even though he was determined that he was going to have a job that would link to his desire he decided against it one day as if the little kid that was running around was gone and there was nothing left of him. We tried to understand him as to why he would decide against it suddenly. But he never gave us a reason he said that there was no reason he just didn’t feel like it. We all knew it wasn’t like him but decided against pressuring him.

For a full year, he acted as if he wasn’t curious about exploring new things. But it was clear to all of us that he was just trying to keep his tail up. We all knew that he was going to be something that he was ambitious about but none of us ever said a word about it until we were talking about what he wanted to be when he grew up. We were talking about a career which I don’t remember, and our dad said ”Talking about careers, what do you plan on being since you decided against following your dreams?” He was caught off guard. He looked at our father in the eye for a while then as if he was calculating every possibility about what would happen if he opened his mouth to speak. Then he said ”Who said I stopped following my dreams?” and this time we were in his shoes. We all looked at him in shocked way. He continued ”I am going to own my own program where I am going to be trying every kind of madness.”. We were thrilled to hear this. In the end, he did achieve what he said he was going to do.
