Two Of The Most Precious Privileges

As a person living in the 21st century, What would you say our most precious privileges are? I think they are the Internet and traveling. If you do not agree with me, try to think about a life in which you don’t have either of them. It is hard, isn’t it? That is normal since they became more accessible now and have bigger parts in our lives. I myself don’t even think that I can live a life without them but if someone asked me to give one away. I would give away travelling. Many of you will probably agree with me but is it really the right choice?

The Internet. “Greatest invention ever” as some may say and I think they are right. Nowadays, we do everything via Internet like something as simple as going through social media apps or something complex like figuring out how to go other planets. It is affecting the jobs as well. It is hard, or maybe even impossible to find a profession that the Internet doesn’t take a slightest part in. What I am trying to say is, we can’t live without the Internet. I know it is a huge claim but just think about it. Some people may ask “how did the people live before the invention of the internet?”. It is because they didn’t know that they needed a thing like the Internet before it was invented. This may not be too convincing that doesn’t mean that it isn’t right.

The second “must” in a person’s life in my opinion is travelling. Travelling isn’t just about going and seeing different places, it is also about the cultural exchange. As an example, did you know that Italy, a country that is know to have the best coffee, adopted the coffee culture from the Ottoman Empire. It can be surprising for some people but that is the truth. This example may not be enough to make people agree that travelling is really important but basically every culture in the world is created by having cultural exchanges between countries.

To sum up my words, Internet and travelling are, for me, the two of the most important things in our lives. But if I had to forfeit one, I would forfeit travelling only because the Internet also causes cultural exchange and it is slightly more important nowadays.
