Wish Came True

Last night was Hıdırellez. Before I went to sleep, I wrote my biggest wish on a small paper. I wanted to become a famous basketball player. I put the paper under a rose tree, like the tradition. Then, I closed my eyes and dreamed about my future.

The next morning, something strange happened. I woke up early and checked my phone. I saw many messages and calls. One message was from a big basketball coach. He wrote, “We saw your videos. We want you to join our team.” I couldn’t believe it! My heart started to beat fast.

I ran to tell my family. My mother smiled and hugged me. My father said, “Your hard work is finally bringing results.” I felt so happy. I remembered all the times I practiced, even when I was tired. All the pain, the sweat, the early mornings—it was all worth it.

A few weeks later, I moved to a new city. I started training with professional players. At first, it was very hard. Everyone was fast, strong, and skilled. But I didn’t give up. I listened to my coach, worked hard, and improved every day.

Soon, I played my first real match. I was nervous, but when the game started, I focused. I passed the ball well, made good decisions, and even scored a few points. After the game, the coach smiled and said, “You did great.”

Now, my life is very different. I travel to new cities, meet new people, and play the game I love. But I never forget that it all started on a Hıdırellez night, with one simple wish.

Sometimes, I visit that same rose tree and say thank you. I know magic is not real, but maybe dreams, hope, and hard work are a kind of magic too.

Hıdırellez changed my life, and I will always remember that special morning.
