AI for Schoolwork

Artificial intelligence is undoubtedly a revolutionary invention, allowing us to automate and streamline many time-intensive tasks. However, because it is a new and flawed invention, it is a topic of debate even among students about whether AI should be used for schoolwork. Though it can be useful, it can also prohibit learning and creativity with it’s convienience.

AI can be used in a variety of ways for schoolwork. It is common sense that text generation is unethical, but why would creating ideas be as such? AI can also provide new words if the text is being written in a foreign language or aid with grammar mistakes. It is also a great way of research. Not by reading the prompt, but by using AI to sift through the internet for scientific papers that can answer a specific question or at least give a lead. Most websites offer links to where their AI has obtained the information used to answer questions.

But most of these processes are also to be improved. Creating ideas for an essay is a creative task, which makes skipping it a net negative. Additionally, AI rarely gives fully correct answers, and the line between using AI for efficiency and using it to avoid creative tasks is very blurry. In most scenarios, AI can’t be fully relied on, and manual labor is required.

Despite it’s convienience, AI must be used with care.
