Changing Jobs

One day, I woke up feeling quite normal. I am usually hungry as soon as I wake up, so I went to the kitchen. There, I saw my mom rushing around. I turned to her and asked, “Mom, why are you in such a hurry?”

She looked at me while filling a thermos with coffee and said, “I’m going to be late for the movie set!”

I was confused. My mom wasn’t a movie star or a director, so why was she going to a movie set? I looked at her curiously and asked, “What movie set?”

She replied, “Don’t you remember? We’re shooting part two of our movie.”

At that moment, I realized that something had definitely changed about my mom’s job. I didn’t know how, but I kind of liked it. So, I asked her if I could come to the set with her, and she said yes—I could stay for five hours.

I rushed to my room and got ready quickly. Then we got into the car, and I was so excited that I could hardly sit still.

When we arrived at the set, I had a really fun time. Everything felt so exciting and different.

When we returned home, I was exhausted. After quickly brushing my teeth, I went straight to bed.

Suddenly, I heard my alarm ringing.

It had all been a dream.
