December 27 1919

The air was filled with a hope. The streets of Ankara were alive with a lots of people waving flags cheering, and chanting in unison. We all know that this day marked as turning point in our struggle for independence. Mustafa Kemal Pasha whom we now call Atatürk had arrived as a very importand leadership in our time of need.

The biting cold of the late December day did nothing to loose our spirits. There was an electric energy that seemed to warm us a collective feeling of determination. We saw not just a leader but a vision for the future of our homeland. Men women and children stood together, their faces are telling joy, pride, and resolute hope for a free and modern sovereign Turkey.

As Atatürk passed through the crowd, his calm and resolute demeanordsus all. His eyes seemed to reflect a promise as all can see that we would rise as a nation united. Some cried tears of hope, others shouted their support, and many simply stood in happiness. The sounds of horses hooves on the dirt roads, the fluttering of flags in the breeze, and the murmurs of the crowd all merged into a moment of profound significance.

That day, Ankara transformed from a modest Anatolian town into the heart of a national resistance.I felt and recognise that this place is changed so much and we were part of something monumental. We believed in him, and in that moment, we believed liberty in our nation’s future.
