It came, the day finally came I screamed jumping out of bed. Today was the day Mustafa Kemal Atatürk coming to Ankara. I woke up at 6am even though he didn’t come until 2pm I wanted to look my best for the occasion, but not being able to sleep also had an effect. My mother was still sleeping so I tried not to make much notice but it’s safe to say I couldn’t really contain my excitement. But after waking up I brushed my teeth, wore my best clothes, cleaned my room, and prepared breakfast for me and my mother, then I woke her up. She was shocked on how much I did in so little time this early. Then after eating our breakfast my mom drinking her coffee while I read a bit, my dad was a teacher so he taught me to read before he went to war. Then at 12 o’clock we went to our neighbour Mrs. Fatma’s house and got on a car together and went to the train station. As we got there and I came out of the car I could feel my heart racing and my hands shaking, after all I wasn’t seeing any ordinary person, we were seeing Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. We had also brought a beautiful bouquet from my mother’s garden that I was hoping to give him. So, when we arrived it was around 1.30 am so we went to the station right away. And after waiting for what felt like eternity the train came. And I saw him I was in utter shock it didn’t feel real I couldn’t believe I was actually seeing Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Then after coming out of the train of which I was waiting right beside of the door of he started talking with people and as he was next to me, I took my chance and gave him the bouquet he was delighted to receive it and he also asked me what me name and age was and I felt my voice stutter while answering I was so embarrassed but his reassuring smile made me quickly come at ease. And that was it the greatest moment of my life. But like all great things it came to an end and he had to go but I don’t think I’ll ever forget it.
The day I met my hero
