Ability to Hear People’s Inner Voice

I woke up and ran to the kitchen. My mother was there, singing loudly. I asked her to be quiet, and then she said she wasn’t singing out loud. She asked how I did that. I looked at her strangely and said, “Did what?” She told me she was singing with her inner voice.

The moment she told me that, I realized something—it was the wish I had made last Christmas. The wish I had made had come true! It made my day. That meant I could hear what people thought of me when I walked by them.

I had a quick breakfast and walked to school. It took around fifteen minutes to get there. When I stepped into the school, I could hear people whispering about me. They were talking about the reason behind the breakup between me and my boyfriend. I looked at them with a humiliating facial expression. They thought I had broken up with him for no reason, and I knew that because I could hear what they were thinking in their inner voices.

The ability to hear people’s inner voices was getting more exciting as time passed. It even helped me find my real friends—the ones who didn’t talk behind my back or think weird things about me.

For the rest of the day, not many people talked about me in a bad way. As time went on, the ability to hear people’s inner voices stopped feeling like a superpower. Most people weren’t thinking anything bad about me, so it wasn’t a big deal anymore.
