If I ever had to choose between giving up social media or never being able to travel again, the answer would be easy — I’d say goodbye to social media. There’s nothing more exciting to me than stepping into a new place, hearing a new language, or watching life flow differently somewhere far from home.
People often say we can see the world through our phones now. It’s true that with just one click, we can watch videos, read stories, and learn about almost any country. But no matter how high the video quality is, it can’t replace the feeling of being there. You can’t smell the rain, taste the local food, or share a smile with someone through a screen. Real experiences happen outside — not online.
I’ve been lucky to travel since I was little, and every trip has taught me something new about life. Sometimes it’s just a small moment — a friendly conversation, a street performance, or even getting lost in an airport — but those are the moments that stay in my heart. Traveling has changed the way I see people and the world. It has made me curious, open-minded, and grateful.
That’s why, if I ever have to choose, I would rather stop using social media than stop traveling. The world is too big and too beautiful to experience only through a screen. Memories from travel last forever — likes and followers don’t.
