I yawned and got up from my bed. I felt energetic today — I don’t know why. I needed to go to school, so I quickly got ready. I always love going to school by walking alone.
I wanted to listen to some songs, so I opened my bag and started searching for my earphones, but they weren’t there! Then I remembered — I had left them on my desk. Anyway, I continued walking and saw one of my classmates. I wasn’t very happy to see her; I’m not very close to her — actually, not close to the whole class. So, I acted like I didn’t see her.
But then, I heard a strange noise. It was her voice, but it sounded different. She was talking about me. When I looked at her, her mouth wasn’t moving. Something was really wrong with me today. I started to run back home. What was happening?
Then I saw my mom and ran towards her. She looked happy, like always. But then I heard the voice again: “Your dad died.”
I stopped running. How could my dad die? How?! I started crying. My mom looked shocked. I told her everything, and she was shocked too. Then she said that sentence:
“Your dad was in the military, but actually that was a lie. Your dad died in a war. But you were too young — you were just six years old — and I couldn’t tell you. I’m sorry.”
“W-what!”
My dad died when I was six years old! And my mom lied to me.
My head started to spin, and my eyes slowly closed. I heard my mom’s voice. She was screaming for help. Then… I just died.
