After a long and bitter winter, Daniel returned to the small village where he had grown up. The trees were still bare and the wind carried the sharp chill of loss just like the one in his heart. It had been a year since he left after losing both his parents in a tragic accident. The old house is still dusty and its garden overgrown.
At first Daniel only meant to stay for a few days to sell the property. But as he stepped inside, memories came rushing back. The smell of his mother’s bread and the sound of his father’s laughter, the warmth that once filled every corner. He decided to stay a little longer.
Each morning, he cleaned a room, repaired a chair or tended to the garden. Slowly, life began to return to the house. One morning, while clearing weeds from the flowerbed, he noticed small green shoots pushing through the soil. They were his mother’s tulips. They are still growing after all this time. He released he missed his mom and this house which he grown up.
For the first time in months Daniel smiled. The sun broke through the clouds, lighting up the garden with soft golden rays. He knelt beside the flowers, touched the fresh earth, and whispered, “Maybe it’s not too late to start again.”
In that quiet moment, as the breeze carried the scent of spring through the air. his hope was blossoming again.
