We all use medicines when we are sick, but how can we know that they are safe?
A long time ago, people were using animals to understand how the human body works. It was forbidden and hard to use the human body. I think it is really sad because, including animals, we all have rights and a life.
After the 17th century, science improved more and more. Scientists gave microbes to animals and then they gave some medicines too, to see if they worked. I am sure of that. In our day, the technology also improved, but they are still using animals.
In my opinion, they should use some computer programs or human cells. They are using mammals. Mostly, scientists use mice and rabbits because their body works like ours. I think if it is necessary to use animals, the number of animals needs to be less.
But does that mean if a medicine works in an animal, that it will work exactly right in a person? Not for sure…
We shouldn’t forget that every life is important.
