One Day in the Life of an African Child

Today I will tell you about a day in the life of a child in Africa who is fighting hunger. When I woke up, the sun was very bright. Our house is a small hut, and finding food is not easy. My mom gave us a little water, then I went outside with my brother. In the village, people were looking for things. Some were trying to find food, and some were going to get water. I walked to the water well with my friends. The road was long, but we were happy because we walked together.

We got water, and everyone was very happy because water is very important. When we came back to the village, we played for a little while. We don’t have a ball, but playing with stones makes us laugh. In the afternoon, I helped my mom and we collected wood. Later, a kid told me a small story.

When evening came, we sat around the fire. One person sang, and another told a story. The sky was beautiful, and the stars were bright. Our life is hard, but we never stop hoping. We pray that tomorrow will be better.
