Should We Celebrate Teachers More Often?

Teachers’ Day is a special moment when we show our appreciation for the people who guide, support, and inspire us. However, many students, including some of my friends, believe that celebrating teachers only once a year is not enough. I agree. Teachers work extremely hard, and their efforts deserve recognition more often.

One friend said, “Teachers work so hard and deserve more appreciation.” This is absolutely true. Teachers spend long hours preparing lessons, marking homework, and helping students who struggle. Their work continues long after the school day ends. Without their dedication, we would not have the knowledge or confidence to succeed in the future.

Another friend stated, “Every day should be Teachers’ Day, not just once a year!” While celebrating every single day may not be practical, the idea behind this comment is important. We should show small signs of gratitude throughout the year. A simple “thank you,” working harder in lessons, or showing respect can make a big difference.

In my opinion, appreciating teachers more often would also help create a more positive school environment. When teachers feel valued, they become even more motivated, which benefits everyone. Schools could organise monthly appreciation moments, such as short messages, posters, or announcements, celebrating teachers’ efforts.

To conclude, Teachers’ Day should remain a special event, but our appreciation should not be limited to just one day. Teachers help shape our futures, and they deserve recognition all year round.
