“Everything started when that strange light came inside…”
Three days ago, I had a sleepover with my close friends. We ate snacks, talked, watched scary movies, and did other fun things. After doing so much, we all got very tired and decided to sleep. But they didn’t know that I can’t sleep unless I’m in my own room or house. I didn’t want to upset them, so I never talked about it.
When we all got into our beds, everyone fell asleep in a second. I was the only one awake. I tried to fall asleep for half an hour, but somehow I finally managed to sleep.
After sleeping for eight hours, I woke up, but the others were still asleep. I didn’t want to wake them, so I stayed silent and looked out of bed. Suddenly, a strange light went into my eyes. It was red and very bright. It was… different.
I jumped out of bed and quickly shouted to the girls, “WAKE UP! SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE WEATHER!”
They woke up quickly, and we all stared at the window. All of a sudden, a monster seemed to be floating in the sky. We screamed and ran to the kitchen.
My friend started screaming for her mom, but she didn’t respond, so we got even more scared. I really wanted to know what was going on, so I peeked out of the window—and guess what? There was a large flock of birds.
We all relaxed, but one question remained: why was the sky red? My friend quickly searched it online and realized that it was the sun showing a different color, something that happens only once a year.
From that day on, I have been scared of birds, the sun, and sleepovers. 😅
