Rosalind Park Bendigo Victoria Australia Rainy Day

Words Instead of Rain

When I woke up in the morning, there were words in the sky instead of rain.
It looked like rain, but it wasn’t. Words were falling against my window instead of raindrops. I needed to go to the grocery store for things the house needed. When I stepped outside, the word “insufficient” fell onto my shoulder. It felt as if an actual weight had landed there. I wondered if every word that fell would feel like this. Soon after, the words “love” and “kindness” fell one after the other, and I felt myself soften. Then I understood: some words make you feel good, while others wound you.I went into a café to take shelter from the words raining down instead of rain. When the words began to fall less, I left the café. I started walking toward the grocery store, and I realized I was finally free from the words that had been raining down instead of rain.
