AI: Friend or Foe?

As tempting as having every information that is available to mankind sorted, rearranged and developed into ideas sound, does the accessibility and creativity of AI overshadow its negative aspects?

Artificial Intelligence has started to be one of the most used tools of our generation and the students are no exception. From getting helps on essays to math problems it eases the workload of the students. When used correctly, it is undeniable that it makes learning easier, accessing resources faster and an overall time saver. It helps the students with focusing on what matters the most: learning in their own unique way and exploring themselves.

It would be rather unrealistic to believe the resources AI provides are never exploited. When asking simple math equations turns into uploading whole worksheets of questions to be solved, this is a huge threat on skills like analytical thinking, creativity and problem solving. It pushes students to be lazier, sloppier with their work and most importantly makes them dependent on AI for even the simplest things.

As for what I say, AI is one of the greatest tools to boost learning but it also is one of the biggest threats on modern education. Like every aspect of our life, it should be on moderation. Using AI for further learning should be encouraged but regulations must be put to ensure the work is essentially done by the students, not AI.
