For the last century, people have been constantly arguing about whether we all should become vegetarians or not. Both sides of the argument have their reasons, and they stand by them. But the real question is: “Would Earth be a better place if we all became vegetarians?”
To start with, the beneficial effects of meat and other dairy products such as milk on human health is something which we all cannot deny. It contains substances like protein which are useful molecules for our body. For example, enzymes and antibodies are all made up of protein. In addition, having a meal which is composed of meat is something that many people love. As I am one of those people, I cannot find something that tastes as delicious as meat.
On the other hand, if humanity decided to be vegetarians one day, world would be a different place. The population of animals, which we used to eat, would highly increase. There would be a demand for agricultural production at a level that has never been seen. So, farmers would have difficulty meeting the increasing demand for agricultural production. That might have been the reason for the increasing price of vegetables and fruits.
To sum up, making all human vegetarians would be a disaster. With the increasing level of production, we might even have less water than we do now.
