A DAY OF HUNGER

During my day, the sun rises early, and its heat quickly fills our small village. I wake up with an empty stomach, but I try to stay hopeful. My first task is to walk to the water well with my little sister. The path is long and dusty, so we talk and laugh to make it feel shorter. When we return home, my mother shares the small amount of food we have. It is never enough, but we are grateful for it.

At school, I listen carefully because I dream of becoming a doctor. Sometimes hunger makes it harder to focus, but I don’t give up. After school, I help my family collect firewood or I look after my siblings. As the sun sets, we sit together and talk about better days. Although our life is difficult, I always hold on to hope for a brighter future.
