One Monday evening, when we were in Portugal for a holiday, my family told me that they had a surprise for me.
I couldn’t understand why they said that. I was a bit nervous.
We went to a restaurant. It was a very nice, small place, but it was really crowded. Then we sat at our table and ordered our meals. After that, we waited.
Suddenly, a man came near us and sat nearby. When I looked at him, I was shocked. He was one of the most famous celebrities I admired — Cristiano Ronaldo!
I was definitely not expecting that. That’s why my family had told me they had a surprise.
Then I realized that this might be the first and last time I would ever see Ronaldo. And then… Ronaldo and I began to talk:
Derin: Hi, it’s so nice to meet you. It’s such a big surprise to see you, Ronaldo!
Ronaldo: Oh, no problem. How are you doing?
Derin: I’m great! How about you?
Ronaldo: I’m also grateful to meet you. You’re so sweet.
Derin: Anyway, how are the matches going? Are they fun?
Ronaldo: They’re going well. I enjoy them a lot. Do you want to come watch one of my matches at the stadium?
Derin: Yesssss! Of course! That would be amazing!
Ronaldo: Here’s your ticket for my next match — and a signed football. I hope to see you there!
Derin: Thank you so much for your kind invitation. I’ll definitely be there, Ronaldo.
That was a day I will never forget.
