Kofi is a ten-year-old boy who lives in a small village in Ghana, Africa. Every morning, he wakes up early when the sun rises. He feels hungry because there is not much food at home. His mother gives him a small piece of bread and some water. Kofi is thankful, but he still feels weak.
After breakfast, he walks to school. The road is long and hot, but Kofi wants to learn. At school, he sometimes cannot concentrate because his stomach hurts. His teacher is kind and understands his situation.
In the evening, Kofi goes back home. His family eats a simple meal, usually rice or vegetables. Sometimes there is not enough for everyone. Kofi helps his mother collect water and take care of his younger brother.
At night, Kofi dreams of a better future. He hopes that one day his village will have enough food for all the children.
