A Mono-Tongue World

Hello Reader! Imagine waking up one day to realize that everyone is speaking the same language, including you—like a reverse Tower of Babel. “How would this event affect the Earth?” is the question I’ll answer in this piece.

First of all, international communication would be effortless, as nobody would need to learn a new language. With the elimination of language barriers, many problems would end. However, this includes “good” things as well, such as certain hobbies, items, titles, and jobs based on languages.

Ultimately, the pros outweigh the cons. I believe this event would affect the world positively in general, despite some struggles in the first few generations.

Basically, the effects would be great for diplomacy and global accessibility. However, the first and second generations might experience issues in the job market (both white-collar and blue-collar), a halt in the production of products like dictionaries, and the loss of words like “polyglot” and “bilingual.”

That’s all for now. Thanks for reading, and goodbye until you decide to read another one of my writings.
