One day, I woke up and discovered that every human on Earth spoke the same language. At first, I was shocked. I turned on the TV and understood every single show. I checked Instagram and could read every post without translation. It felt strange because the letters were not the ones I knew; they were probably from a different language.
Life became much easier. People from different countries could talk freely. There was no need to translate everything while on vacation, and students could study anywhere in the world without worrying about language barriers. International meetings became faster because everyone clearly understood each other.
However, something felt different. Without different languages, the world seemed strange at first, but people got used to it after a while. Expressions, songs in different languages, and traditional sayings slowly disappeared. It was as if a part of cultural diversity had faded away.
In the end, I realized that while one language brings unity and convenience, many languages bring diversity and self-respect. A perfect world may not need one single language, but better understanding and respect between people everywhere.
