“Is it better to live in a country with a lot of agricultural land or one rich in ores?” This question has been discussed many times, and according to my research, people discovered agriculture thousands of years ago. Once agriculture was discovered, people could grow their own food and no longer needed to hunt or search for it constantly. Even today, we still rely on farming to produce most of our food.
Although ores are often very valuable, I believe people trade agricultural products for ores, not the other way around. Ores might make transactions easier—like gold or metals used in technology—but agriculture helps prevent hunger and sustains life.
When the COVID-19 virus first emerged in 2020, people started stockpiling food in their homes, not ores. Ores didn’t lose value during that time, but agricultural products became more scarce. People rushed to buy food because they needed it during lockdowns and restrictions. For this reason, I believe a country with rich agricultural land is more valuable than one rich in ores.
