What is art?
Art is a state of mind at the moment of creation. It is the pinnacle of the human mind turned into reality through brush strokes, harmonious notes, and ordered body movements that stimulate the human brain beyond understanding.
Art expresses human ideas; a piece of art without an idea is not art. Art must have a concept for it to be considered art. Let us take a look at some of the most elaborate works of art — Starry Night, Swan Lake Ballet, The Four Seasons Symphony… They all embody an idea that we seek within them. Furthermore, if they didn’t have a guiding idea, they wouldn’t truly be art.
Art goes beyond human imagination — beyond brush strokes on a canvas, beyond notes arranged in order, beyond body movements that follow one another. It is a state of mind expressed on a canvas through brush strokes, in harmonious notes that reflect emotion, or in perfectly ordered body movements. However, it goes much deeper than that — it extends beyond the human mind, though in an understandably basic way.
Art is the expression of the human mind — the expression of ideas, the pinnacle of imagination, conveyed through understandable forms such as canvas, sound, and movement. Art is a necessity for human life — a way of expressing emotions without words.
