Basketball: more than a game

Basketball is a fast-paced, exciting sport invented by Dr. James Naismith in 1891 and is among the popular games, along with football, handball, tennis, volleyball, American football, and more. But what’s more outstanding in basketball is getting the ball inside a hoop.
So what’s the story of basketball?
Basketball began with a simple idea in a cold gym in Springfield in December 1891. Dr.James Naismith, a Canadian physical education instructor, was trying to keep his students active indoors during the winter. He needed a game that was fast and less dangerous than football.
So, he nailed peach baskets to the gym walls and gave students soccer balls. There were 13 original rules and nine players per team.
But the simple game quickly caught on with the other sports and became the basketball we know.
However, basketball has strict rules that players must follow, such as not pushing opponents or touching opponents’ hands while shooting.
