Book Review: “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho

The Central Theme:
The main topic of The Alchemist is following your dreams. The book teaches that if you truly desire something, the universe will help you achieve it. This idea is called the “Personal Legend” in the book. It means everyone has a special goal  in life. Another important topic is self-discovery. Santiago, the main character, learns a lot about himself and the world around him. The story also talks about  destiny and the importance of listening to your heart. It encourages readers to take risks and believe in themselves.

Character Development:
The main character, Santiago, is a young shepherd who dreams of finding a hidden treasure. At the beginning of the story, he is thinkfull about leaving his comfortable life. However, as he travels, he meets different people who help him grow. The king of Salem teaches him about following his dreams. A crystal merchant shows him the importance of patience. The Englishman introduces him to the idea of alchemy, and the alchemist helps him understand the power within himself. Through these experiences, Santiago becomes wiser, braver, and more confident.

Recommendation:
I will highly recommend The Alchemist to other books because it is inspiring and meaningful book. It is easy to read, but it teaches many life lessons to us. The story is full with adventure, mystery, and wisdom. It makes you think about your own dreams and the path you are taking in the life. If you enjoy books about   adventure you will love The Alchemist. It is a book that stays with your mind even after you finish reading it.
