Books guide us in so many areas of life. Turning the pages, smelling the paper—it’s always a wonderful feeling. Sometimes books can become our closest friends. When we close our eyes and imagine the stories we read, we feel as if we’ve become part of the story. By reading slowly, page by page, we develop our imagination. Reading a lot of books is also very important for our academic life. For example, it greatly improves our vocabulary, so we can write compositions in Turkish class fluently and beautifully, or it helps us read and solve math problems quickly and clearly. What I mean is that reading books is incredibly educational in every aspect of our lives.
However, in my opinion, watching videos is just as educational as reading books. While there are plenty of silly videos on the internet, there are also tons of highly educational ones. For instance, before exams, I watch topic explanations or example question solutions on websites. The more I watch, the better I understand—I always prepare for exams this way.
To me, both reading books and watching videos can be very educational. They are both extremely important, and whenever we want to learn something in life, we can benefit from both of them at any time.
