Celebrating Teacher’s Day

Teacher’s Day is observed once a year, but the role teachers play in shaping students and people deserves much more attention. Educators don’t just teach lessons to individuals; they inspire, encourage and sow the seed of curiosity in students who will become the next generation of leaders, engineers, doctors and good citizens. But should we fit the celebration of Teacher’s Day into just one day?

In a regular school day, we see our teachers more than our parents so they are more like a father and a mother for most of the students. They make us take the first step to the real world. To ensure that we will achieve success, they put their hearts and souls. Since they put too much effort on people,  celebrating just one Teacher’s Day is inequity.

The idea of celebrating Teacher’s day is not just effecting teachers but students and citizens too. It can reinforce the connection between the teacher and the student.  More frequent celebrations do not have to be elaborate. Small gestures such as thank-you notes or student performances can create meaningful connections.

In conclusion, celebrating Teachers’ Day more often is not just about honoring educators, it is about strengthen the importance of education itself. By making appropriation as part of school culture, we can acknowledge the fact that teaching is an important part of life an deserves continuous greeting.
