It was a sunny and warm day. The weather was 23 degrees and no clouds were in the distance. Stephan’s school ended at 3.40, it was 30 minutes earlier than the usual which Steph did not mind much. He directly went his home and took a shower because he had an extremely tiring football match. After the shower, he had a rest for 1 hour. He watched some television and ate some snacks to gain the energy he lost in the match. Some time later, a friend of his called him and asked to meet in a shopping mall. He accepted without thinking because he was really bored and had nothing to do. He dressed up and went to the bus stop. Normally, there would be a crowd waiting for the bus. However, it was completely empty. Steph thought because it was too early to students and employees turn back to home. However, the reason was deeper.
He was trying to kill time but for him, the time was not passing like someone pressed a button and stopped the time. Actually, it was. A warmhole appared and a weird-looking vehicle came out of the warmhole, all in a sudden. Steph was shocked and his mouth was dropped. The vehicle was standing in front of him with some scratched and broken parts. He thought it was a dream and he robbed his eyes to understand if it was a dream or not, it was not. A door opened and a man who was looking like him got down from the car. However, there was something different with that man, the light was passing through him! Steph realized that it was a hologram with a small problem: holograms were not that realistic in that year. Giving no time Steph to think, the hologram started to talk “Hi Stephan, you seem like you can not believe what is happening here. Do not worry, I will explain. First, know that I am you and you are me. The only difference is I am coming from 30 years later, which the situations and consequences do not seem to be well.” A bell ringing sound came from the vehicle. “My time is very limited, before I go I want you to know that you will have to make a decision today which will change the future. The only think you need to do is:…” The warmhole appered again and the vehicle disappeared like it has never been there. Steph could not believe his eyes. Were all these actually real? Without much time passing, he found a piece of paper he had never noticed, because it was not there. He picked up the paper, the things written on the paper with a handwriting was: “Whatever you do, at the crossroads don’t turn left. Don’t be fooled, it is listening.” Below that: “Whatever you do, at the crossroads dont turn l eft. It’s listening to me. It’s watching me. ” A misspelled “left”, a handwriting seemed to be written in a hurry. These all pointed one thing, in the future someone or some people will be chasing him if he does not follow the insturictions given on the paper: “…Don’t turn left…” It was like a puzzle with missing pieces. Steph put the paper into his pocket and the bus came that he was waiting for. He got on the bus, paid the money and found a seat. He was wondering where he would face crossroads. Then he realized, while going to the shopping center! In the route he planned in his mind to reach the mall, there were 3 crossroads with few meters of gaps between them and he had to turn left to reach the mall. The missing pieces of the puzzle were getting ou to their place. The message was to warn him not to go to the mall, because he was not going as a “friend” he was going as a “target”. Not only him, his friends too! The time realized that he got off the bus and called his friends immediately. He told them to get out from the shopping mall as fast as they can and he was not going there either. His friends agreed without thinking as they understood from his voice that there was a real problem. Then, Steph started walking to his home.
When he got home, he turned on the television and saw that there was a group of attackers* triying to find a specific person because he had something important, that was no one else but Stephan himself. He was breathing too fast that he was going to faint if he did not stop. One more time the warmhole and vehicle appered again and the hologram appered, saying: “You succeed it Steph, the future is saved.” Yes, he was successful. A smile appered on his face as he became a hero without a cape. He was so happy that he did not even notice the vehicle was gone. He called his 2 best friends and invited them to his house to tell them everything and maybe throw a party after all that!
