The graph below states the population of China and India’s population change throughout the years 2000 to present day alongside projections for growth to the year 2050.
In the year 2000, China has more people accommodated in their own country than India with an approximate amount of 1.25 billion people living there. India still has 1 billion people in their own country which increases throughout the years but the country is less populated than China until the year 2030 as estimated. Both countries reach a population of 1.450 billion people in 2030. Afterwards we can observe a increase in the population of India and China decreasing after reaching it’s maximum value at 2030. As India’s population reached its maximum of 1.6 billion people in the year 2050, China’s population is the same as the population it had between 2010-2020 which is 1.4 billion.
Overall, whilst India sees a steep increase, China first experiences an increase in population then a downward movement after 2030.
