Crowded Loneliness

Crowded Loneliness is the best phrase to describe today’s world. Because of the development of technology and urbanization, people are constantly facing the crowds. They have lots of people around them but mentally they are feeling lonely. There may be many reasons for this situation.

One of them is technology, we have lots of friends on social media but these virtual friendships don’t contain real friendship feelings. Urbanization also contributes a lot to crowded loneliness. Physically we are very close to each other, we are living in apartments which contain many people inside them, but we don’t even know each other. The busy city life causes us to be apart from each other. Crowded Loneliness affects mental health in a bad way. Loneliness can cause mental problems such as depression, anxiety, and stress. Additionally, it causes the weakening of social relationships. This pushes people against each other and society falls apart. To cope with crowded loneliness we must reduce the time we spend on social media, we must give more importance to our face-to-face relationships, and we must participate more in activities that strengthen social relationships.

Although technology and urbanization bring people closer together physically, they also distance them psychologically. By making meaningful human connections we can cope with Crowded Loneliness and build a more connected, empathetic society.
