Death of Our Social Life

Have you ever been at a meet-up and came to the realization that everyone was digged up inside their phones, floating in the world of social media away from the reality? If you have, that is what “addiction” is called. Us, humans, are sociable creatures who has to socialize in order to survive and with the elaboration of technology in our daily lives, we are losing our ability to.

Nowadays, technology has been such a colossal part of us that we cancel plans, not attend eminent events just to have more time to spend on our technologic devices. As far as this isn’t good for our brains at all, our social life isn’t taking benefit from it either. Another thing we avoid unintentionally is our loved ones. Ever since we got addicted to technology and the dopamine we got from it, most of us let go of our family. Although it is easier to communicate with, family meet-ups are almost non-existent now. Furthermore, people started to make “friends” on social media platforms from people who they never saw in person. Even though not many people see the threats in this, getting to know someone from the internet is usually not safe.

As mentioned earlier, it is easier to connect with people with the rapid buildout of technology. The distance between our relatives and us went from hundreds of kilometres to one click. Planning also became so much easier!

To summarize, the growth of technology’s role in our social lives has affected us in a non-favorable way and it is a fact that we have got to put a stop to it as fast as possible.
