Does Technology Help Or Damage Our Social Life?

Nowadays, technology is playing a big role in how we communicate. Some people think that it is a great invention, while others believe it is an invention that causes problems. I believe that technology is both beneficial and harmful.

Primarily, it is a great tool to chat and stay connected with our friends and family. For the people who are living in a different place or a different country from their parents and friends, technology is a lifesaver. You can be in touch with them even though you are not there. So you don’t need to meet them. Also, sometimes we feel depressed and alone, and those times we need our friends and family to support us. When we communicate with them, we feel much better. If there weren’t technology, we couldn’t have talked with them when we are feeling bad.

Even though technology helps us stay connected, it also harms friendships. When you are getting used to calling your friends, you won’t even meet them and have a real conversation. Studies show that communicating face-to-face improves your friendship, while communicating on the phone does not. In addition, the friends you make on social media are not real friends. They probably won’t help you when you need help because you didn’t really know them, and they probably don’t know you.

Overall, technologies affect your social life in different ways. It could be really helpful to use it when your friends are not here, but using it frequently will damage your friendship.
