Don’t Worry Pal, You’ll Feel at Home Soon

Hey Tuğçe,

I just read your email, and I completely understand how you feel. Moving somewhere new can be really overwhelming at first — everything seems strange, and it takes time to adjust. It’s perfectly normal to feel lonely or out of place when you’re starting a new chapter in your life. Trust me, you’re not the only one who feels this way.

When I first began working at my grandfather’s shop, I felt the same. I didn’t know anyone and found it hard to fit in at the beginning. But after a few weeks, I started talking to people, helping customers, and slowly got used to the routine. That experience taught me that adapting takes patience — things don’t change overnight, but they do get easier with time.

Maybe you could try joining a club or taking part in some college activities. It’s one of the best ways to meet new people and feel more connected. Even small things like chatting with classmates, exploring new places around campus, or volunteering for an event can really help. Sometimes stepping out of your comfort zone leads to the best experiences.

Also, try to be kind to yourself. Don’t expect everything to fall into place right away. Focus on the positives — this is a fresh start, a chance to grow and discover what truly makes you happy. Remember, good things take time, and it’s okay to take small steps every day.

You’re stronger than you think, Tuğçe. This tough beginning won’t last forever, and I know you’ll find your place soon enough. If you ever need to talk or just want to share how things are going, I’m always here for you. Hang in there — you’ve got this!

Take care, Your friend

Ömer
