With the fast-paced technology era, our world keeps developing frequently nowadays. As technology is evolving, everyone is doing their best to improve our world and to have a better place to live. But the only thing that must develop isn’t the technology; human beings still have their needs that should be provided for them, or at least be known by people. In the 21st century, we all have some wishes that we believe must be apparent in the current world we’re living; wishes we want not only in some places but also all over our home country, to make our society a better place.
Some projects are implemented in some regions, which are actually so useful for our community, and which must be known more and spread more. I also believe one of the projects in our country, which is carried out in Mersin, which is the “Kıyafet Evi” aka “Dress House” project, must be spread all over the country. First of all, what is this project?
The project carried out by the Mersin Municipality is for families who don’t have enough financial income and often have economic problems to buy new clothes for their children. Once every 4 months, parents who have children between the ages of 0 to 12 that made an application can get up to three pieces of clothing from these houses for their children. Mersin citizens can provide clothes from these houses, and all they need are a few documents about the parents and the children. The family in need can get help from this project, 3 times a year, thanks to the Mersin Municipality and the workers in these houses.
I believe that this project is important for every part of our country. Poverty isn’t rare in the current conditions of our country, and these kinds of help would be supportive for lots of families. Not only in Mersin but also all over the country, “Kıyafet Evi” projects must spread, to reach children in need and their warm hearts. Obviously, helping them would make us feel better. There are currently 3 Dress Houses in Mersin. I hope this number will increase and new numbers will occur in different cities.
