Education is typically the things that we learn in our childhood. In the world we have schools for children to be educated. The schools system and educating styles changes place to place. Some schools prefer to educate their students theorical knowledge but some of them prefers to educate students practical skills. In this essay, we will be discussing which one is more efficent.
Practical skills is based on experiments . In this style students learn the topic by seeing its examples. They also gain a chance to see how does this things work. For example if students are learning about machines they see the exact one so they can absorbe how its works. Also in chemistry you do the experiments so you can understand if that substance acidic or base etc. In my opinion this type of learining is way eaiser and it makes the topic simple. Because I can understand topics by seeing examples. Also in math the question which are practical skills based just gives the formula and wants you to apply it on the question.
In theorical knowledge, the topics become much simpler and it is about the theories that are found by scientist. For example Newton states different rules about physics and in theorical knowledge you question why he thought like this. Every lesson is processed in this way. Also in questions you are asked to write the formula. In my opinion this way of learning is more complicated. Because you are asked to memorise everything.
This two styles are the most commons around the world. In our country , there is an education based on theorical knowledge so in exams we are asked to memorize the whole topic or formulas etc. But in IGCSE system, there are mostly practical skills based education. On the first page of the exam, they gave the formulas that we will need during the exam and all we have to do is applying them to correct questions.
If you ask my opinion as I gave practical based education is better. Because in real world, they won’t ask for formulas they will be looking for answers. In real life we will be allowed to use calculators and we will be able to search for the formulas when we need them.
