Extracurricular activities contribute significantly to students’ growth and academic performance. Extracurricular activities like sports; arts, etc., are valuable experiences with, unfortunately, some disadvantages.
Negative Points:
Extracurricular activities can be stressful from time to time. A tight schedule being stressful and exhausting to students, it also might be affecting their academic success; some students cannot balance school and extracurricular activities. Moreover, students doing multiple activities can be not so affordable.
Positive Points:
Despite the negative aspects, extracurricular activities help the student to achieve good skills like teamwork and leadership. Sport encourages physical well-being and discipline, while art classes make the student creative. The activities also raise the students’ confidence level, reduce their stress level, and enable them to have good relations with other individuals. It has been proved that students of extracurricular activities tend to live a happier life in general.
Conclusion:
Despite the drawbacks, the advantages of extracurricular cannot be denied. They are a part of the development of a young mind, and they direct students towards their adult life. Parents and schools, therefore, should guide students towards appropriate activities.
