Have you ever wanted to watch a film that allows you to emphasize with the main character in a way in which you never could have thought? If so, Memento should be at the top of your watchlist. Memento is a thriller movie directed by Christopher Nolan.
The film is about a guy named Leonard who has a short term memory loss, the inability of forming new memories, because of an accident from his past. Throughout the movie, Leonard seeks the person who killed his wife. In order to remember the information he has found and the people he has met he takes pictures of people, writes notes in notebooks and tattoos vital information on his body.
In my opinion, Memento is one of the most unpredictable. movies filmed. Even though it is hard to understand, the movie allows you to connect with Leonard by showing the entire timeline backwards which means that you don’t know what happened prior to the scene you are watching just like Leonard doesn’t know due to his condition. Also, although the film starts when the events of it are over , it manages to have an unexpected ending as the beginning of the events.
Overall, the movie was complicated but spectacular. It has an original concept and it uses different perspective. It makes you question itself. Memento is the best movie I’ve watched so far.
