Friendship

On the day of her birthday, she was waiting for the people she called her friends, together with her older sister. She remembered waiting until she fell asleep just before her sister did.

It was exactly midnight, and both girls had been sleeping for four hours. Her younger friends were supposed to come and celebrate her birthday, but it was already too late. When she woke up, she felt so disappointed that she threw all the party decorations outside the house in garbage bags. Then it was time to wake her sister up so she could sleep in her comfortable bed, but suddenly something came through the window.

It all started when a strange light entered through the window and made her feel as if the sun was shining. It was them—her friends. For a moment, she felt that she had chosen the worst people to be around. They had been bad friends, without a doubt, but they had a reason— not a good one, but still a reason.

They had traveled abroad to buy her the dress of her dreams, but their flight had been cancelled the night before. This was the nearest flight they could take, so there was nothing else they could do. That was enough for her. She hugged all of them, and they had a party together. She even wore the dress while her sister was sleeping peacefully.
