When I woke up this morning, I realized I could hear everyone’s inner voice. At first, I thought I was still dreaming. But no—it was real! People’s thoughts were like little whispers inside my head.
At breakfast, my brother was thinking, “I hope Mom doesn’t make me eat broccoli again.” And my mom was worried about the big test she had forgotten to study for. It was strange but also interesting. I could hear my teacher thinking about the best way to explain math problems, and my best friend wondering if I wanted to play after school.
I walked to school and heard many thoughts. Some were funny, some were kind, and some were a little sad. One boy was thinking about how lonely he felt. I wanted to help him but didn’t know what to say—everyone’s thoughts were private, after all.
At the end of the day, I realized that hearing people’s inner voices helped me understand them better. Sometimes, they say one thing, but their thoughts tell a different story. Maybe it’s good to listen, but also important to keep their secrets safe. I hope I never stop hearing what people truly feel inside.
