AI has become an undeniable part of technology in people’s everyday life. Many believe that this is just like using a tool to create things and is a key skill for all of us while others think that the usage of AI for creating things like art is unethical and doesn’t help you be creative or learn anything.
People love to use generative AI to create pieces of art such as paintings, music and even videos nowadays for a variety of different reasons. They claim that the artwork is still theirs because they are the ones who created the prompt and made the AI do that artwork just like using any other tool that you would use to create these things.
Many others think that writing a prompt doesn’t make you the creator of the piece that is made and isn’t comparable to using a brush to make a painting or playing the guitar to make a song. They also believe that using AI isn’t a creative process and takes out the little mistakes that people make in their own creations which is essentially the purpose of creating things is.
In conclusion, AI can be used to make “art” but that’s just a soulless copy of different things that the AI pieces together without any human touches in the process. Art by definition, needs imperfections and originality which gets taken away from it when artificial intelligence does the part for people.
