In our English class, we talked about how technology affects the way we communicate. I think it can be both helpful and harmful, depending on how we use it.
Technology makes it very easy to stay in touch with people. We can message friends anytime, join online groups, or meet people who live far away. I like that I can talk to my relatives in other cities and share photos or jokes with friends. It helps us feel close, even when we are not together.
But there are also some downsides. Many students say they have lots of “friends” on social media, but these friendships are not always real or deep. We might know many people online, but only a few truly support us. Also, we sometimes spend so much time on our phones that we ignore the people around us. This can make us feel lonely, even when we are in the same room.
In my opinion, the best thing is to find a balance. Technology is great for staying connected, but it shouldn’t replace real conversations. Talking face to face and sharing real moments are more meaningful than likes or comments. If we use technology carefully, it can help our social lives instead of hurting them.
