This morning, I woke up to sunlight shining, just like every other day. My family and I didn’t even have three pennies. We were poor, and I always tried to help my family. My mom looked after my sister, and my dad was really sick. That’s why I was working in an old, dirty place.
As I was walking to work, I found some pennies behind a tree. At first, I didn’t want to take them, but when I remembered my family, I took them. My job was to collect hay. The hay was staring at me, and I was staring at the pain in my hands. My hands looked like an old person’s hands. I kept thinking, “I have to do this for my family.”
When I felt hot, I went to drink water, but the water was brown—always dirty. I screamed after drinking it because the taste was terrible. I had a friend who helped me at work, and we worked together at the same time every day.
On my way home, I fell down. Every day, the way I help my family hurts more and more. When I arrived home, I made the food and helped my dad eat. Then I went to sleep and said, “Earth is not easy.”
