My Dream Day Visiting the Northern Lights

Natural wonders, from the Grand Canyon to Mount Everest, are beautiful in their own way. However, if I had to choose one to visit, it would undoubtedly be the Aurora Borealis. The beauty of it is unmatched. I imagine a perfect day to visit this wonder would be something like this:

I would begin my day by waking up at 7:30 a.m., ready to start the adventure. For breakfast, I would have a traditional Finnish leipajuusto, a delicious cheese dish that pairs perfectly with cloudberry jam. Afterward, I would head out to explore the local shops in Finland learning about the culture and picking up some unique souvenirs. A few hours would pass before I felt it was time to move on.

Next, I would make my way to the beautiful archipelago of Åland. The tranquil islands would offer stunning views, and I would take time to appreciate the serene surroundings, maybe even snapping a few photos. After enjoying Åland, I would travel to the Oulanka National Park, known for its dramatic landscapes and pristine wilderness. The park would offer the perfect opportunity to connect with nature, taking in the peaceful beauty of Finland’s forests and rivers.

By that time, I would be ready for a traditional Finnish fish pie, a savoury pie that would fill me up for the next part of the day. Them would visit the National Museum of Finland, where I would learn about the interesting history and culture of this amazing country. Afterward, I would take a walk through the city center, admiring the architecture and enjoying atmosphere.

As the day begins to wind down, it would be time to head toward Lapland to witness the Aurora Borealis. Upon arrival, I would carefully set up my chairs to the best spot to watch the northern lights. As the moment finally comes, I would watch the lights moving across the sky, without forgetting to take many pictures and videos, while enjoying the beauty of this natural wonder.
