My name is Kofi. I live in a very poor house in a small village in Africa. Our home is made of mud, and the roof has holes. When it rains, water comes inside. We have only a few chairs and one small table. I sleep on a thin mat on the floor. At night, I feel cold and hungry. We don’t have enough food. Some days we eat only once, so I feel weak and tired.
Water is also a big problem. The river is far away, and I walk for about two hours to get water for my family. The water is very heavy, and my hands shake when I carry it. Sometimes the water is dirty, but we still drink it because we have no clean water.
Even with all these problems, I have a big dream. I want to become a professional football player. When I play football, I feel strong. I forget the hunger and the pain. I practice every day after my chores. I run fast, kick the ball hard, and try new skills. My shoes are old, but I keep training. When I don’t have shoes, I play barefoot even on the hot ground.
I watch famous football players on our small TV, like Messi and Ronaldo. They are the greatest players of all time, and they inspire me.
Ah, never mind. I won’t make this too long. Bye-bye!
