My Gripe with Weather These Days… and More

I’m pretty sure you’ve all heard enough about how climate change has been disrupting the balance of absolutely everything. I’m also pretty sure that you’re able to sleep perfectly tight knowing that this only affects the next generations, as did every generation before us. The future doesn’t matter anyway, does it? Anyway, there actually is a part of this horrible incoming disaster that already affects us. Most if not all of us should be familiar with the phenomenon I’ll soon inquire you about.

Chart: 20 Firms Produced A Third Of Global CO2 Emissions | StatistaNow, answer me this, dear readers: How many of you remember the winter of 2023-2024? Do you, perchance, remember how it did not snow whatsoever? My fellow snow enjoyers out there must have seriously been bummed out in regards to this. It was certainly one disappointing winter, that is for sure. But then, it suddenly snowed. Not in winter, of course — that would obviously be foolish and nonsensical. It snowed in April. You know, two months after the snowy season. I shall refrain from expressing how upset I was with this and leave it up to your imagination. But wouldn’t you be annoyed as well? If not annoyed, then at least confused? Why would the white crystalline snow avoid caressing the earth for the whole winter, only to show itself not one but two entire months after? The culprit in this case is, rather obviously, climate change.

There really is a great deal of examples of climate change being a complete annoyance though. Granted, climate change will have many, many more destructive aspects in the future. But what do we do? I say, not much. Seriously. Every source, every person and every piece of media you’ve ever seen will have your uninformed self believe that you should do everything in your power to be more eco friendly. You’ve been conditioned to believe that it’s on us common folk to save the world. All of that’s completely false. Only the 100 largest corporations on earth by themselves produce roughly 71% of all carbon emissions. You can imagine how bad it gets when you account for every corporation out there. That being said, absolutely nothing average people could ever do will ever do anything to meaningfully combat pollution or climate change. I mean this. That isn’t to say that you should burn tires and force feed plastic straws to turtles, but there’s no real point in trying to be more “eco-friendly” either. Recycling is a complete lie as well, as nearly all of the waste that gets sent to be recycled ends up in a landfill anyway.

What should you take from this? I’d say to trust no one when it comes to data regarding pollution or climate change. Media is absolutely littered with lies about it and you’re better off sticking to what you absolutely know to be true. Everything’s on corporations. They have full power to stop climate change, but as this would make them gain 2 less pennies an hour it happens to be completely unviable in their eyes. The graph on the left isn’t even fully accurate. Fun, isn’t it?
