My Opinion

The poem “Şubat Yolcusu” by Attila İlhan makes me feel a bit sad and thoughtful. The poet talks about February, a month that seems lonely and quiet. The image of a “broken cloud” in someone’s pocket and the “fear of loneliness at 4 AM” creates a feeling of emptiness. The poet describes a time when everything is calm but also a little lost.

The poem also suggests that a person, like rain at dawn, can change everything around them. The mix of sadness, beauty, and fear in the words makes me feel like the poet is talking about the difficult moments in life—when things are uncertain, and we are all searching for something. Because of this, I felt sad while reading it.

Why did he write about February? I think it’s because February has only 28 or 29 days. But at the same time, I also felt happy while reading, because he chose February—a short and unique month—to express these emotions.
