My Savior

It was a cold morning, and I was standing at the airport waiting to fly to London for an important interview. I had been preparing for this moment for about six months. However, when the officer asked for my passport, I opened my bag and felt my stomach drop. My passport was not there! I checked every pocket, every black spot in the suitcase but it was nothing.

I was racing against time, and just when I wished for a miracle to happen, my phone started to rang. It was my little brother who was calling. “You forgot your passport in your room!”he yelled to me. “I’m bringing it now!” I felt both relief and even more panic at the same time. My flight was in 45 minutes and we lived 30 minutes away. “Hurry, please,” I begged.

I sat down, trying to stay calm, watching the time going on. Every second started to feel like an hour to me. Ten minutes passed, then twenty. Finally, I saw my brother running towards me, with the passport in his hand. I grabbed it and ran through the security as fast as I could. The door was almost closed but I shouted and waved to them to wait for me. They saw me and let me in.

On the plane my heart was still beating fastly. I looked out the window and smiled. Without my brother I would have missed this huge chance. I promised that I would not act so stupid again.

That day, I learned something important which was a life lesson for me. Even when things go wrong you should never give up till the end.
