MY SUCCESS AND LIFE

It has been really hard for me to focus on my studies or lessons for almost my whole life. I find them rather dull, and it is difficult to keep up with the pace. I have never had a specific aim throughout my 13 years of existence, which never gave me a motivation to study. I never took anything seriously, including the advice I received from my parents or other adults who were part of my life.

However, one day I was inspired by one of my teachers—more specifically, my math teacher. I do not really recall how the conversation started; however, that speech was like a call for help for me. She shared some information about her life and explained how she struggled during certain periods. Nevertheless, she never gave up. She told us that even though she failed countless times, she still ended up succeeding. According to her, the key to success was setting a goal.

I had always been told to “set a goal,” but hearing it from her felt different. After that day, I decided to make some decisions that would affect my life. I started to research suitable high schools for myself. I found some really good ones; however, getting into these schools required intensive studying, which I was not sure I would be able to handle at first. Yet, I decided to believe in myself.

From that day on—the day I set my goal—I started studying very hard. Months passed, and I did not give up. I kept studying again and again. Although I failed sometimes, I did not let it demotivate me. After months of continuous effort, the day finally came: the exam day. I was anxious at first and unsure whether I would be able to concentrate fully, but I promised myself that no matter what, I would do my best. And I did.

I was extremely happy. I do not think I could have achieved this without my teacher’s support. I am really proud of myself for this achievement, and I hope to do even better in the coming years.
